Energy Star Homes
The EPA EnergyStar label is earned only after the home’s energy efficiency is verified by a licensed third party tester. E3 Building Sciences can provide independent third party verification of a home’s energy rating and, if qualified, register your home with the EPA as an EnergyStar home. EnergyStar homes are (minimally) 15-30% more efficient than 1993 Model Energy Code. Currently, E3 Building Sciences is the largest Energy Star Rater in the State of Florida.

E3 Building Sciences provides energy-efficiency strategies and tests for existing and new residential and commercial construction. As part of the Enery Star Certification process E3 first conducts a plan review and then inputs information from the plans into specially designed computer simulation programs. The programs then generates a “HERS” rating for the project. This process is also known as Energy modeling. During construction and upon final completion of the project E3 will complete inspections and testing.
The EnergyStar savings are achieved through a combination of factors including building envelope upgrades, high performance windows, controlled air infiltration, upgraded (more efficient) heating and air conditioning systems, air tight duct work and upgraded water heating equipment. Collectively, these features contribute to improved home quality and homeowner comfort and lower energy bills and reduced environmental pollution.
