Home Depot Foundation Affordable Homes Grant
The USGBC and the Home Depot Foundation have an affordable homes initiative. The goal of the initiative is to recognize and reward the intrinsic resource efficiencies of affordable housing in the LEED for Homes rating system. In this way, the USGBC and the Home Depot Foundation will promote sustainable building practices specifically for affordable homes.
Who can apply for the grant?
Non-Profit 501 (c)(3) developers of affordable homes who are seeking LEED for Homes certification.
What constitutes an affordable home?
A home built for low income (<= 80% Area Median Income (AMI)) homeowners.
How much of the community must be low income – affordable?
At least 75%
How much does the grant pay?
The award limits are not set. However, some projects have their LEED Registration and Certification Fees paid. While others also may receive grant allocations towards Verification Fees.
